Duanna Taylor Rooney is an artist, designer, and illustrator based in Dublin, Ireland. She graduated from Visual Communication Design in 2023 and has worked in hospitality design at Kor Agency and Grandson Studio.
Duanna’s design work is rooted in an interest in queer and feminist theory—an influence that came to the fore in her thesis, “Does Non-Binary Typography Embody Queerness?” This critical lens informs much of her design thinking, especially her love for experimental and playful typography.
As an illustrator, Duanna’s style is defined by loose, pen-based drawings that lean into humour and are light-hearted and unpolished. Her illustrations have featured on wine glasses in a Michelin-starred restaurant, as well as in online articles, logos, posters, and album artwork.
Duanna work as an artist is deeply autobiographical, documenting her life and the people within it. Through self-portraiture, Duanna explores the complexity of selfhood—how we see ourselves, how others perceive us, and how identity shifts across personal and digital spaces.
